Each year the leading authority on color, The Pantone Color Institute, declares their much anticipated Color of the Year, and I’m excited about “Living Coral” for 2019. As the owner of Curtain Call Creations, and an experienced interior home designer; I like where this trend is leading. The possibilities “seam” endless!
“Living Coral” has been described as a muted shade of coral, boasting vibrant tones of orange-red. Inspired by nature, this color easily creates a calming energy that can bring the “happy” into our everyday lives.
Although not THE color of the year, I’ve included some of the Top Colors of the Year, as declared by a few well-known companies in the industry:
Benjamin Moore 2019 Color of the Year is “Metropolitan”
Supporting a palette of harmonious hues, this color is understated and brings beauty, balance and grace to any room. Expect to see Hale Navy, Hunter Green and Soft Fern as choices to create a blended, natural feel throughout the home.
Sherwin Williams 2019 Color of the Year is “Cavern Clay”
This gorgeous rust color is inspired to bring in hues of the southwest, with contemporary flair!
For a softer feel, Shiitake Mushroom has been described as “earthy-gray, blended with warm brown, giving off an old world, naturalist feel,” was a chosen Top Color of the Year.
Behr’s 2019 Color of the Year is “Blueprint”
This color is a perfect blueprint to complement Behr’s 2019 four color palettes, and can also be used as a beautiful standout accent color. I understand their choice, as it’s a soothing statement in any room.
